What's new

New features, improvements, and fixes for Pura Letra.

April 2026

Automatic language detection

Pura Letra now detects your browser language on your first visit and sets the interface accordingly. You can always switch manually between English and Spanish using the language toggle.

March 2026

Account deletion with grace period

You can now request account deletion from Settings. A 30-day grace period lets you change your mind — a banner appears so you can cancel the request at any time.

Security hardening

Tighter CORS policies, rate limiting on all endpoints, automatic share link expiry, audit logging, and abuse protection. Your data is safer than ever.

Spanish language support

The entire Pura Letra interface is now available in Spanish. Switch languages from the header toggle or let automatic detection handle it for you.

Library toolbar and navigation fixes

Added a back-link to your Library from the article toolbar so you can jump back without using the browser's back button. Fixed double-tap issues on mobile for Library action buttons.

Share button fix

Fixed an issue where the Share button could fail due to a broken user gesture chain in some browsers.

Reading Digest

Get a weekly email summary of your reading activity — unread articles, recent highlights, and your reading streak. Enable it from Settings.

Newsletter ingestion

Forward newsletters to your Pura Letra email address and they'll appear in your library as clean, readable articles — no more cluttered inbox reading.

Text-to-speech

Press the Listen button on any article and have it read aloud. Adjust speed from 0.75x to 2x. Great for long reads or when your eyes need a break.

February 2026

Highlights and notes

Select any passage while reading to highlight it. Optionally add a note to remember why it mattered. All your highlights are collected in one place.

Dark mode

Switch between light and dark themes using the toggle in the header. Your preference is saved across sessions.

Pura Letra launch

Save articles without ads or clutter. A free, privacy-focused alternative to Pocket with focused reading, highlights, notes, and listening.
